The Newport Cruise, August 2012

Click on the tabs above to see pictures from our 2012 cruise aboard Namaste, a Jeanneau 54DS. The boat name is a common greeting in India when individuals meet and a valediction when they part, much like aloha in Hawai'i. Our crew was Sam Francis (captain), Jim Arrison, Bill and Alicia Blodgett, Barbara Bryan, Roe Cranley, John Evans, Cherie Francis, Kip Francis, John Holmes, Ed and Lydia Kitfield, John McMurtrie, and Ron Milke. We sailed out of Newport and explored Narragansett Bay, Block Island Sound, Vineyard Sound, Nantucket Sound, Buzzards Bay, and Cape Cod Bay.

On this cruise we saw the beautiful and stately HMS Bounty. About 2 months later, she was lost in a hurricane. Read the story.
